Dogs on Planes: 5 Tips to Make Your Pet Comfortable on Any Flight

In 2018, US pet lovers owned nearly 90 million dogs.

When a pet becomes a part of your life, you’ll want to take them with you wherever you go. Even if that means you and your best friend jumping on a plane.

Taking a dog on a plane isn’t everyone’s idea of a good time, but there are a few things you can do to make life easier.

Read on as we take a look at five tips for taking dogs on planes.

1. Try to Fly Direct

The key to flying with your dog is to try to make the journey as short as possible.

If you can, aim to fly direct to your destination. Making your dog go through boarding a flight, being up in the air, landing, and then disembarking is hard enough to do once. Putting the poor thing through the whole rigmarole twice in a row isn’t going to be much fun.

If you can’t fly direct, try to build in a stopover.
