Cast Of ‘Big Brother Germany’ Will Be Told About The Coronavirus Pandemic On A Live Episode

It’s hard to imagine that there’s anyone in the world who isn’t aware of the coronavirus pandemic. For the cast of Big Brother Germany, that bubble is about to be burst. The 14-person cast of the long-running reality series entered the house in Cologne on February 6. The show requires that cast members have no communication with the world outside the house. As a result, they are unaware of the coronavirus pandemic.

The last of the cast members to have access to the outside world were the four housemates who were introduced on March 6. Three days later, Germany reported its first coronavirus death.

The fact that the cast has no idea of what’s going on caused a recent uproar online.

German station Sat.1 ensured that producers are taking measures to protect the housemates. As more blowback emerged, they decided they would inform the housemates in a live episode on March 17 at 7 p.m.

A social media uproar recently sparked when fans learned that Sat.1 producers had not informed the housemates of Big Brother Germany about the coronavirus pandemic. The original 10 housemates began residing in the Cologne Big Brother residence on February 6.
